The health authorities of British Columbia has announced that people attending certain social and recreational events will need to provide their proof of vaccination to enter those premises.

The implementation of this measure will take a phased approach. All attendees with at least proof of a single doze will be allowed to participate in events until September 13. However, the proof of vaccination requirement will be upgraded to ‘fully vaccinated’ for attendees by October 24th. Local medical health officers are trusted with authority to take necessary steps to control event access requirements at places facing significant outbreaks.

In BC, people above the age of 12 will be required to show their proof to enter indoor games, restaurants including patios, fitness centers, casinos, conferences and weddings.

All vaccinated people will receive a secure link through which they can access the proof of vaccination and save a copy in their phones. Those who do not have this facility will be provided with secure alternatives to show proof.
