Canada Ranked No.1 Country in the World

Canada has taken the No.1 spot in overall quality of life according to the 2021 Best Countries Report. This ranking and analysis report was conducted by the U.S. News & World Report.

This year’s report puts emphasis on the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, Economy, Politics and Culture remained equally important with social purpose and agility added on the report. Canada has taken the top spots in terms of quality of life, stable job market, human rights and social justice. Besides this analysis, Canada is a country known to welcome massive amount of immigrants. Many people from India has chosen Canada as their new Home. There are several reasons why people from India choose to settle in Canada.

Indian Communities

Over the years, people from India has established their respected communities in many cities across Canada. Below are some of the biggest communities in Canada.

Punjabi

There are approximately 668,240 Punjabi people in Canada. Since the late 1800s, Punjabi Soldiers has migrated to Canada from either directly from India or United Kingdom. The Punjabis were essentially the first South Asian group who settled in Canada. The Punjabi Culture is strongly maintained as they have restaurants, food shops, clothing shops and gurudwaras in many cities across Canada. The celebrations of Holi, Lohri, Maghi, Vaisakhi, and Teeyan are still celebrated in many Canadian Provinces.

Gujarati

Gujaratis make up the second-largest ethnic group in Canada following Punjabis. There are about 122,460 Gujarati people in Canada. Important festivals such as Navratri, Makar Sankranti, Maha Shivratri, Ramajan-Eid and Holi are still maintained.

Tamil

There are approximately 300,000 Tamil people in Canada. Tamils have been migrated to Canada since the 1980s. Many of their holidays are still maintained such as Thai Pongal, Mattu Pongal, Kanum Pongal, Deepavali, Saraswathi, Vijaya Dasami and Ganapathy.

Other Communities

Other Indian Communties are growing in Canada. Many Indians feel at home here because of their respective culture being maintained.

Response to Pandemic

Canada truly deserves the No.1 title as evidence in the response of the Pandemic. The Government of Canada phenomenally supported their residents and is strongly working on the economy recovery post pandemic. Canada is therefore certainly the top country to settle for Indian on many analytical levels.
