For admissions in Colleges or Universities in Canada, qualifying English Proficiency Test is mandatory. Students from those countries where English is not their native language have to undergo these tests for academic or permanent residence in Canada.

More importantly, you should know that there are several English Proficiency Tests accepted by Canadian institutions. Out of which, The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) are the most leading general English tests for study, immigration, and professional designation. These tests measure the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a communication language.

You can find the list of test centers currently available on:

In India, most of the English Test centers are still closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For such situations, you can also attempt the IELTS test being at home with the IELTS indicator. However, please remember that the IELTS indicator is only available for Academic, but not for General Training. The IELTS indicator test will be delivered online once a week at scheduled times.
