About the Course

This program prepares graduates to succeed in the path of management and leadership positions that run small and medium-sized businesses. Students gain the skills and knowledge to develop and manage a business enterprise.

Students are trained to be successful entrepreneurs who would be able to run organizations in the most efficient manner. The program lays emphasis on sustainability & experiential learning. Students are taught in such a way that allows them to manage, lead, and inspire in any organizational setting.

What is ENTR?

ENTR, also known as KPU’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (“ENTR”) Program, has the following themes:

  • Know Thyself: Entrepreneurial Identity 
  • Create Opportunities 
  • Mobilize 
  • Grow

In the first part of the program, students are made to discover new ideas. In Phase Two they learn how to make plans and, in Phase Three, they determine how the plans can be put to action. In the last phase, Phase Four, the actual action takes place.

The Program provides the student flexibility as it is online, blended, and face-to-face. All three modes of teaching are available. Students are made to actively participate in the learning activities and assessments in the form of assignments and projects.

Curricular Requirements

The degree program requires a minimum of 120 credits of required courses and electives. The degree program with Co-operative Education requires at least 28 Co-op Education credits.

Unique Features About this course

This program comes with a Co-operative Education option for full-time students. Co-operative Education allows a student to apply their practical knowledge at work in between semesters. Work semesters alternate with academic study so that the students can enjoy the best of both worlds, education, and work. 

Students wishing to enter and participate in the Co-op Option must meet the following requirements:

  • Declaration of Co-op specialization in the Program
  • GPA should be a minimum 2.7
  • 75 credits (maximum)should be completed

Introduction to Professional and Career Readiness 

Students will learn the basics of Cooperative education, and understand its significance.

Students will also be introduced to networking and will learn how to make cover letters and resumes and analyze job postings.

What is expected from the students? 

Students who wish to enroll in this course are expected to have good English Language communication skills. Good analytical, critical thinking, and basic computer skills are an asset. They must also be able to work in a team environment. 

What are the Admission Requirements? 

The requirements for international students to get enrolled in this course are as follows:

  • TOEFL iBT 88 or higher, with a minimum score of 20 in each section

or

  • Academic IELTS (overall band 6.5 or higher) with a minimum score of 6.0 in every band.

Please note that the tests should be taken within the last two years from the term of admission.

Tuition and Fees

The base tuition fee for international students for one semester (based on 15 credit semesters) is about $10,474.50CAD. However, if other additional fees are included then the estimated total is $11,376.81CAD.

They can work in enterprise development, management, non-profit organizations, and leadership roles in a variety of settings including their own entrepreneurial ventures.
